- “Michael MacDonald was Grandma’s uncle. It was from his brother Johnny that Grandma learned many of her songs. I am told that he had a photographic memory and could sing all night without repeating a song. My mother had recorded Gaelic songs since she got her first reel-to-reel recorder back in 1964. Both my parents were Gaelic speakers, in fact it was my father’s first language.” – Peggy MacIntyre, Margaret MacLean’s granddaughter and Sadie MacIntyre’s daughter.
